Welcome to my website
I know that looking for a therapist can be overwhelming. Some people have clear ideas of what they want and need from therapy, but just as often people do not. I hope that my website gives you a feel for what I offer as a therapist and what the experience of counselling can offer you.
About Me
I am a professionally trained integrative counsellor. I work with clients on many issues but I have particular experience in working with bereavement and loss. I strive to offer a non-judgemental and safe space for you to explore and make sense of what might be troubling you. I can support you in gaining understanding and acceptance of yourself.
My work and training has shown me that human connection facilitates change. This is supported by research that has found the strength of the therapeutic relationship to be the consistant determining factor in therapeutic outcomes.
As a member of the BACP I adhere to the ethical guidelines that they outline. I attend regular supervision sessions where I gain guidance and support in my work from a registered supervisor. I am committed to continual professional development through attending training workshops, talks and ensuring that I am aware of current research.

Loss and Bereavement
I have gained experience of working with bereavement whilst volunteering in a local hospice. It is a privilage to walk alongside clients as they navigate their journey through grief. This has shown me that humans have a innate need for connection and it is this that can be lost when we grieve. Therefore, many people experience a sense of isolation. Through telling their story and that of their loved one they can once again feel connected.

FAQ’s
How can counselling help me?
I believe that by developing a relationship based on authentic communication, respect, and empathy we can open the possibility for your personal growth. I aim to offer such a relationship in my work with clients. Humans have a need to tell their story and doing so in a non-judgmental and safe space can be healing on its own. It can also help you gain awareness of self and empower you to make the changes that you need.
How many sessions will I need?
I understand that for many reasons, you may want an idea of how long you will need in therapy. Whilst I cannot give a definitive answer to this question, I will endevour to work saftely within a time frame that is right for you. I work short term (6+ sessions) and longterm (open ended) and encourage frequent reviews which give an oportunity to discuss progress.
